The merger process between Air India and Vistara has begun

The integration process between Air India and Vistara, both owned by Tata Sons, has begun as the two airlines work to swiftly finish the merger process.

While law firm AZB Partners works on legal and regulatory compliance, a team of top executives from Air India and Vistara, along with consultancy firm Deloitte, has begun the process of integrating human resources.

Getting the pilots from the two airlines to work together while also taking the seniority of the cockpit crew into consideration is another challenging problem to solve. According to reports, some Vistara pilots are concerned about how the merger may affect their seniority as they join a new airline.

Also moving forward quickly is obtaining all essential clearances from the relevant authorities. The airlines enlist the assistance of the law firm AZB Partners to handle all legal and regulatory compliance.

The merger requires the consent of important organisations like the Central Bank of India, the DGCA, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation. While Vistara is a joint venture between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, the approval of the competition authorities of both India and Singapore will also be required.
