Sridhar Vembu is the 55th richest person in the country with a net worth of $3.75 billion according to FORBES listing. Vembu was born in a middle-class Tamil family in a village located in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1989 and received his MS and PhD degrees from Princeton University, New Jersey. Vembu started his professional career at Qualcomm as a wireless engineer. In 1996, Vembu along with his brothers founded a software development house called AdventNet for network equipment providers. The company was renamed Soho Corporation in 2009, focusing on providing SaaS support for customer relationship management services.
