Twitter Blue has been finally made available in India. Users can choose to subscribe to Twitter Blue’s app or web service.
For the web and mobile versions, the firm has provided many pricing options. Users of iOS and Android can subscribe to the service for Rs 900 per month, but those using it on the web can do so for Rs 650. A yearly cost of Rs.6,800 is available for those purchasing an online membership.
How does Twitter Blue work?
An opt-in, paid subscription called “Twitter Blue” gives users early access to some features, such editing Tweets, and adds a blue checkmark to their accounts. Subscribers have more options to improve and personalize their Twitter experience with Twitter Blue features in addition to the blue checkmark. According to Twitter’s official website, these powerful controls are made to help customize Twitter.
What distinguishes a checkmark earned with a Twitter Blue subscription from one obtained using the legacy blue checkmark?
The blue checkmark has previously been used by Twitter to denote accounts that are noteworthy, active, and genuine and that the social media platform has independently verified according to specific criteria.
The blue checkmark now denotes one of two things: either that a Twitter account has an active subscription to Twitter Blue or that the account was confirmed under the former verification criteria (active, notable, and legitimate). The active, notable, and legitimate criteria that were applied in the prior process will not be reviewed for accounts who obtain the blue checkmark as part of a Twitter Blue subscription.
Users of Twitter Blue will receive the following:
- Edit Tweet: Users will have a 30-minute window in which they can make a few modifications to published Tweets. Only original Tweets and quotation tweets are presently eligible for editing. Users can customize the appearance of the Twitter app symbol on their phone by using custom app icons. Users will be able to select from a variety of vibrant options.
- Top Articles: A user’s network’s most popular articles are quickly accessible through top articles. In order to make it simple for users to identify the kind of information they want to read, this feature automatically lists the most popular articles from users that they follow as well as users that they follow.
- Reader: This feature makes reading lengthy posts more attractive.
- Undo Tweet: This feature allows users to take back a Tweet they’ve already posted, but before it’s seen by other users of Twitter.
- Longer video uploads: Twitter Blue members are now able to upload videos up to 60 minutes long and 2GB in size (1080p). This functionality is only currently accessible over the web.

But there are now some additional conditions for using Twitter Blue, according to Twitter. Only accounts that were created on Twitter more than 90 days ago are eligible to join Twitter Blue. According to Twitter’s official website, once you’ve signed up for Twitter Blue, any alterations to your profile picture, display name, or username (@handle) will result in the loss of the blue checkmark until the account is verified as continuing to meet our requirements. No additional alterations will be permitted during this review period.
