The “Rajiv Gandhi Knowledge Service and Innovation Hubs” are being built by the Rajasthan government in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Kota. Construction started on January 25. The cost of the ambitious project, which aims to empower young people, is Rs 600 crore.
This year should see the completion of the three hubs. According to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, this will be a suitable homage in Rajiv Gandhi’s honour because he was the prime minister when India’s IT revolution began. A senior government source informed News18.Final bids were requested for the construction of the hubs, which were announced in the Gehlot government’s fourth state budget last year.
The newest high-tech equipment will be installed in the three buildings. An official document claims that the Rajiv Gandhi Knowledge Service and Innovation Hub and Rajasthan Institute of Advanced Learning will concentrate on learners and re-learners with a variety of programmes in technological fields. According to News18, which obtained a project blueprint, they will include a special area for female entrepreneurs named “W-Hub.”
Through these hubs, the state government hopes to develop a complete ecosystem and generate job possibilities. They will serve as a hub for a coworking space, accelerator, and community-driven incubator. The institute’s faculty, advisory board, and think tank will be composed of elite educators, entrepreneurs, and technologists.
Other institutions bearing Rajiv Gandhi’s name have also been founded by the Rajasthan government. The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Advanced Technologies in Jaipur, which provides training in cutting-edge technologies, was opened by the chief minister in August of last year.
Gehlot claimed at the time that the centre was a homage to Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his birth anniversary since Gandhi had aspired to use information technology to lift his country into the league of sophisticated nations. The CM declared that he was aiming to make Rajasthan a significant IT cluster similar to Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
