Reliance Jio, an Indian telecom firm, announced a partnership with Xiaomi India to provide all users of Xiaomi 5G smartphones with a “True 5G” experience. Through this collaboration, owners of Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones will be able to play low-latency games, stream videos nonstop, and make high-definition video conversations.

Users must switch their preferred network type on their Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone to 5G in order to access Jio’s True 5G Standalone (SA) network. Along with the existing devices that have been software modified to support True 5G, all new Xiaomi 5G devices will ship with SA connectivity.

In a statement, Sunil Dutt, President of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, said, “With consumers at the centre of everything, enabling True 5G access to the public has been a constant mission for Jio. We are pleased to share that all upcoming Xiaomi 5G devices will feature SA connectivity out of the box, in addition to the existing ones that have been software-upgraded to support True 5G.

The consumer experience and connection for Indian consumers of Xiaomi and Redmi devices are anticipated to be significantly improved by this agreement between Reliance Jio and Xiaomi India. Users will be able to fully enjoy the fast speeds and low latency provided by the 5G technology thanks to the True 5G SA network.
