In the first quarter of 2024, the UAE will host the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) next ministerial meeting, which will hasten progress on the organisation’s reforms and major trade-related concerns. Once every two years, 164 members of the international trade organisation meet in a public setting to debate the topics that may affect trade in the near future.

The 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13), regarded as one of the most significant in the WTO’s recent history, will serve as a catalyst to introduce significant reform and usher in a new wave of policies that will safeguard the organisation’s future as a reliable custodian of the multilateral trading system.

The President Your Excellency The UAE is honoured to have been chosen to host the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in 2024, according to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

His Majesty The 164 member nations and the international trade organisation were warmly welcomed to the UAE for the early 2024 global trade development meetings by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Following the General Council meeting on Monday, it was revealed that the 14th Ministerial Conference would take place in Cameroon.

The WTO recently predicted that the growth of world commerce will slow down in the final few months of this year and the first few months of next.
