The “National Single Window System,” India’s significant stride toward digitising trade, will turn “Red Tape” into “Red Carpet,” Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said. The online tool, which Mr. Goyal launched in September, aids dealers and investors in locating and requesting permissions. Guidance is provided for 31 states and 32 Central Departments in the “Know Your Approvals” section.
The platform, according to the government, is intended to guarantee ecosystem responsiveness, transparency, and accountability. All information will be accessible on a single dashboard. The single window system will simplify compliance, speed up project gestation, and simplify beginning and running a business.
The system, which the government touted as a significant step towards “Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India),” will “usher in azadi (freedom) from the legacy of scurrying to several government offices for clearances and registrations,” according to the government.
As the site holds requests for clearance from 26 federal departments and 16 state governments, it was done to reduce the number of times information had to be submitted previously.
