When it comes to quick delivery of medicines, these days, drones serve the purpose. Many companies have either attempted or considered attempting drone services in the past few months. Tata 1mg has made it a reality in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Drone as a delivery service:

Usually, traffic blocks on roads cause delays in delivering medicines on time. The drone service is an ideal option to overcome this. Using drones, medicines can be quickly delivered in remote areas. Tata 1mg also established three integrated pharmacy and diagnostics stores to ensure hassle-free service throughout the city and nearby areas.

Tata 1mg has collaborated with TSAW Drones, a leading drone logistics service provider in India, to execute the service. Drones will be their delivery partners to distribute medicines or to collect medical samples throughout the city. The drones will deliver the collected samples to the Tata 1mg lab for medical processing.

A single drone can carry about 150 samples at a time. The delivery service is said to be faster, more efficient, low-cost and eco-friendly. The company has plans to launch services in other parts of Uttarakhand such as Haridwar, Mussoorie, and Rishikesh.
