You may now board planes using Face ID thanks to Digiyatra, which has replaced the need for paper boarding passes. Digi Yatra is a biometrics-based identification system for aviators. Information about passengers is automatically processed using facial recognition technology. The Digi Yatra service was introduced by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in its initial phase at the airports in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Varanasi. Therefore, ID cards and boarding passes are no longer required for travellers flying. Domestic travellers can now use this service.
Can be used at checkpoints like security checkpoints, aeroplane boarding, and entry points. By employing PNR to track flight travellers, Digiyatra will speed up airport check-in and improve security. Four additional airports—Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Vijayawada—will offer the Digi Yatra service by March 2023.
