Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet, said that India is a part of him and that he carries it with him wherever he goes as he accepted the prestigious Padma Bhushan award from the Indian envoy to the US.
Pichai, an Indian-American, received the Padma Bhushan in the trade and industry category for 2022. Pichai, who was born in Madurai, was one of the 17 recipients earlier this year. In San Francisco, he was presented with the third-highest civilian honour given by India, in the presence of his immediate family.
I am extremely appreciative of the Indian government and people for this great honour. As he accepted the award from Taranjit Singh Sandhu, India’s ambassador to the US, Pichai, 50, said, “It is tremendously significant to be honoured in this way by the country that shaped me.
I am a product of India. I always have it with me. (Unlike this lovely award, which I shall keep in a safe place),” he declared.
Pichai remarked, “I was lucky to grow up in a family that valued education and knowledge, with parents who made significant sacrifices to ensure I had the opportunity to pursue my interests.
Pichai remarked that it had been incredible to visit India often over the years to observe the quickening pace of technical advancement.
He claimed that everything from speech technology to digital payments were products of Indian invention that benefited people all around the world.

According to Pichai, businesses are embracing digital transformation chances and more individuals than ever before, even those living in rural communities, have access to the internet.
