Ride-hailing app Uber has introduced a new set of tech-driven safety measures to ensure hassle-free rides to riders. The features include audible rear seat belt reminders, proactive trip anomaly detection, and customer SOS integration with local authorities.

From now on, Uber will send riders and drivers an audio rear seat belt reminder every time a ride starts. Another feature ‘RideCheck’ will look for trip anomalies and provide required help. For instance, RideCheck will detect if a trip deviates unexpectedly from the given route or when a trip abruptly ends.

Uber has also strengthened customer support. Now, users can connect with Uber’s safety line 24×7. Uber’s SOS integration with local police will provide more protection. The feature is already operational in Hyderabad. It will share critical information, including live location during an emergency. Uber is planning to bring it to other metro cities,
