- Kerala students’ project receives two US patents
- The project is about the safe dropping of delicate payloads from drones
- Madhumati Anand, Sanjula Sreekumar and Vyshak Ajith are the brains behind this
- They are high school students at the Amrita Vidyalayam, Kollam
- They used a structural principle called Tensegrity to develop it
- The ultralight body is made of cane, jute, and straw
- They developed it under the government’s Atal Innovation Mission
- The students received help from AMMACHI Labs, an arm of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
- The two US patents are for “protective packaging and delivery”
- Indian patent is yet to be confirmed
