Over time, WhatsApp has become an integral part of people’s lives.
Since its inception in 2009,
WhatsApp has been introducing new features to make the platform more user-friendly. From voice and video calls to disappearing messages, WhatsApp has gone a long way in helping people connect with each other. The recent report by WABetaInfo says that the instant messaging platform is planning to introduce five new features. Currently, the features are being tested in the beta version.
What are the upcoming features?
- One of them is ‘profile picture in group chat.’ Soon, WhatsApp will launch profile pictures in group chats. This feature will help participants recognise each other without checking profiles separately while doing group chats.
- The next feature will let users forward media with captions. Currently, you have to send media and captions separately. The new feature will remove this hassle. WhatsApp is also planning to introduce an option to ‘Chat with yourself.’ This will be useful to keep important messages handy.
- WhatsApp’s upcoming blur option will let you safely send sensitive information. This option will blur sensitive areas while sending the media so that it will safely land in your chat. Noone would accidentally see them either.
- The fifth feature will allow you to automatically download media on your desktop. As of now, on the desktop, you have to manually save files that were received via WhatsApp. However, WhatsApp is working on an option that would let users auto-download media on their Windows and MacOS desktops.
