The Office of Naval Research requested that Dr. Lawrence Rome, the creator of HoverGlide, attempt to lessen the heavy weights that Special Operation Forces must carry. His Suspended Load Technology (SLT), a patented invention, provided the answer by enabling the carried load to fluidly rise and fall in relation to the person walking or jogging. A 50 lb load in your backpack exerts 50 lbs of force when you are standing stationary (static weight).
This excess force above and beyond the static weight can be decreased by as much as 86% with the movement of SLT. This maintains the load’s height above the ground at a constant level. Though it appears to be magic or computer-generated visuals, it is actually science.
