The ‘Entrepreneurial Nation 2.0’ initiative was launched at GITEX GLOBAL 2022 by the UAE Minister of Finance Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri. Entrepreneurial Nation 2.0 aims to nurture 8,000 SMEs and create 20 unicorn startups by 2031. It aims to work with Saudi Arabia, India, South Korea and Latvia. Entrepreneurs will get more opportunities, enabling the growth of startups and SMEs and business expansion into global arenas. Support worth 20 million dirhams was given to entrepreneurs and start-ups in the first phase. GITEX GLOBAL also served as a platform to open up more opportunities for UAE-Japan space cooperation. Japanese spacetech company Warpspace is considering opening an office in the UAE, Warspace’s chief marketing officer Ryota Takahashi said.
