According to The Verge, former President Donald Trump’s social media app Truth Social is now downloadable from the Google Play Store.
According to the source, Truth Social, which Google blocked due to “insufficient” content filtering measures, promotes itself as a platform that “encourages an open, free, and honest worldwide discourse.” It provides a social networking experience similar to Twitter.
Trump’s social networking app debuted on the Apple App Store in February before making an attempt to do the same on the Google Play Store.Truth Social has agreed to implement the moderation controls Google demands for user-generated content.
Previously, Google had also reinstated Parler, a similar-focused app, after slapping a ban as a result of the Capitol disturbances.
Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG)-owned Truth Social has been having financial problems as a result of its constantly postponed SPAC, in addition to the legal challenges that first hindered the debut of its Android app.
According to the source, Digital World Acquisition Corp, the front company intended to merge with TMTG and go public, has postponed the procedure and has set the shareholder vote for November 3 instead.
