Temasek-backed firm Licious, which has previously mostly concentrated on animal meat, on Monday unveiled UnCrave, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) plant-based meat division, in an effort to reinforce its house of brands approach.
During its early stages, the company will rely on Licious’ supply network to ship its goods to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. In the coming months, the company stated, it will expand into the other major cities in India. Only the top seven metro areas will receive Licious’ attention over the next 12 months.
UnCrave will only currently sell “vegetarian chicken and mutton” items, but Bhasin noted that the company’s plant-based fish meat products are also almost ready and will soon be available, making up nearly all of its selections.
