The demand for Indian engineers is rising as software technology defines the automobile more and more as the automotive industry moves toward electrification. That is also seen in Magna International, a Canadian Tier 1 major. The business intends to invest more than $120 million (more than INR 980 crore) to build a new engineering facility in Bengaluru’s Brigade Tech Garden.
The software defined vehicle and vehicle electrification will be the centre of the technological development centre’s attention. By the end of 2023, it’s anticipated that 1,000 engineers and technical specialists will have been hired, with room to add up to 250 more if necessary. According to Magna, the centre will be a crucial hub for the business in the development of software defined vehicles, electronics, and electrified powertrains.
Employing engineers and technical specialists working on software and system development, modelling, testing, and vehicle integration, as well as digital, data, and cloud solutions for electric vehicle initiatives, the 240,000 square-foot facility is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2023.
On October 17, there will be a ceremony to officially break ground for the centre.
For its mission to advance mobility for everyone and everything, Magna is actively hiring hardware and software engineers.
In India, Magna operates three product research centres and 12 manufacturing divisions.
