GitHub, an open-source software development platform, announced on Tuesday that it has opened up its developer platform to Indian developers in order to support the country’s startup environment.
Up to 20 free seats of GitHub Enterprise, along with help and direction from GitHub technical experts, will be provided to qualified entrepreneurs in India and throughout the world for one year.
GitHub, which is owned by Microsoft, has more than 7.2 million developers in India and more than 83 million worldwide.
GitHub for Startups, which was introduced earlier this year, has been assisting hundreds of startups—including a few in India—in the pilot group with collaboration and productivity, security, and harnessing the speed of creation.
To make its developer platform available to companies in their ecosystems, GitHub has worked with some of the top venture capital, accelerator, and startup support organisations on the planet.
