PM Modi presided over the release of eight Cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh

The first batch of eight cheetahs has been released into the Kuno National Park
PM Narendra Modi presided over the function
The Kuno National Park is located in Madhya Pradesh
The cheetahs have been brought to India from Namibia, Africa
The pack includes five females and three males
They were brought in a cargo aircraft in Gwalior
Later, the Indian Air Force choppers carried the cheetahs to the park
The ‘Project Cheetah’ intends to reintroduce the big cats in India
In India, cheetahs got extinct in 1952
Cheetahs will help the restoration of open forests and grassland ecosystems
They will enhance ecosystem services like water security, and soil moisture conservation
