Udayam portal crosses 1 crore registrations, employs 7.6 crore people

The government's Udayam portal receives more than 1 crore registrations

MSME registrations on the government’s Udayam portal crossed 1 crore on August 2, 2022. The portal was launched on July 1, 2020, redefining the MSME sector. The registered businesses have employed 7.6 crore people, including 1.7 crore women. 

In the FY21-22 alone 18.34 lakh MSMEs registered on the portal, employing 1.16 crore people. Haryana got the highest number of MSME registrations in the financial year followed by Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. 

In Haryana, the 66,767 MSMEs registered at the portal generated 3.36 lakh jobs. Of them, 66,442 were micro-enterprises, 318 were small enterprises and seven were medium enterprises. 

In Punjab, 46,519 MSMEs got registered on the portal. Out of that, 46,366 were micro-enterprises, 144 were small enterprises and nine were medium enterprises. Himachal Pradesh generated 12,460 MSMEs. In the union territory of Chandigarh, 2,657 MSMEs were established, registering 12,042 jobs.
