India blocked 94 YouTube channels, 747 URLs in FY 21 for spreading fake news

India blocked 94 YouTube channels, 19 social media accounts, and 747 URLs in FY21. They have been blocked for spreading fake news. The government has acted against agencies spreading propaganda. A cell to check COVID-19-related fake news was created on Mar 31, 2020. This was part of the fact-checking unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB). The unit responded to 34,125 actionable queries. The PIB also busted fake news and 875 social media posts.
