Over 13 lakh electric vehicles are registered in India Informed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at the Rajya Sabha. The number excludes Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Lakshadweep 68 cities have got 2,877 public EV charging stations. 1,576 EV charging stations were installed across nine expressways and 16 highways. This was under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) Phase-II scheme.
