Climate Change has been one of the global pressing issues for a long time. The whole world is battling the phenomenon in various ways. Startups are also doing their bit to tackle this issue. Here are five environment-friendly Indian startups.
1. Phool.co
This is India’s first biomaterial startup and a fragrance-focused wellness model. This flower recycling Kanpur-based startup was established in 2017 by engineering graduates Ankit Agarwal and Prateek Kumar. It uses floral waste to make patented natural fertiliser and charcoal-free luxurious incense merchandise. The startup claims it averts 13 tonnes of waste flowers and poisonous chemical substances from reaching the river each day.
2. Banyan Nation
It is a waste administration firm that collects waste from industries. It recycles those waste materials into premium-quality recycled polyolefin plastics (PE and PP). This Hyderabad-based award-winning firm, launched by Mani Vajipeyajula and Rajkiran Madangopal uses tech-based options to collect plastic from casual recyclers and companies.
3. BluSmart
This is an app-based all-electric ride-hailing enterprise that promotes sustainable mobility with its 600 electric autos functioning within the Delhi-NCR area. Started by Anmol Jaggi and Punit Goyal, this startup recently raised $25 million from BP Ventures and Inexperienced Frontier Capital. The startup intends to expand its EV fleet to over 5,000 with this.
4. ZunRoof
It is a leading solar rooftop startup that operates within the Delhi NCR area. Currently, it specialises in residential areas. It has put 1805 photo voltaic web meters in Delhi. According to ZunRoof, it helps people save 100% on electricity bills. Customers can also make money by selling excess solar units. Recently, it has expanded its services to Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara.
5. Ather Power
This Indian electric car firm by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain manufactures two electric scooters – Ather 450 X and Ather 450 Plus. Headquartered in Bengaluru, it has also established an electric car charging infrastructure called Ather Grid throughout the nation.
