Pune native Preeti Maske sets a Guinness Record in ultra-cycling. She is the first woman to cycle alone from Leh and Manali in 55 hrs and 13 mns. Guinness World Record authorities had given her 60 hrs to complete the ride. A mom to two, she covered 480 kilometres. She started the journey on June 22 at Leh Border Roads Organisation.The ride was concluded on June 24 at 1.13 pm. She took oxygen support twice due to breathing issues. She is also the fastest cyclist in the 6,000 km golden quadrilateral Preeti started cycling at 40 to overcome her illness.
