Although it created a row, forcing the Centre to withdraw the statement, later it was mentioned that Masked Aadhaar could be used to prevent attempted photoshopped crimes using Aadhaar.

- First, go to the website https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar card number,
- click the ‘I want a masked Aadhaar’ option, verify with Captcha,
- click on the ‘send OTP’ option,
- download the e-Aadhaar copy.
