In Indian households, sex is still a taboo. People neither explore it nor discuss it. Mumbai-based startup MyMuse, started by newly-wed couple Anushka and Sahil Gupta, attempts to fix this. Let’s take a look at it.
This sexual wellness startup offers products catering to different aspects of sexual experience. The product portfolio includes candles, massage oils, card games, eye masks, lubricants, massagers and kits with different combinations. One can use them for setting the mood or for play.
According to the company, the idea is to enhance sexual wellness among people and to make people acknowledge sex as a part of life. The startup says its products have gone through multiple tests and received numerous feedback.
The products are available only on the company website and its social media handles. The company follows discreet packaging with minimal branding. If buyers have any instructions regarding the product delivery, they can send a request to the company. The only condition for ordering products is 18 years of age to place an order for MyMuse products. MyMuse, which received seed funding from venture capital firms, ships products to almost 200 cities across the world.They also plan to provide sex counseling services.
An MBA graduate of Harvard Business School, Sahil previously worked for a private equity firm. Sahil says the bedroom is a very important part of your mental, physical and emotional well-being. Sahil adds that he gets great feedback and that is the inspiration. Sahil is looking for an opportunity for a sex welfare industry in India through the My Muse startup.
