The government supports startups that come up with great ideas. However, the minister said that the trend of moving to other cities in the country and abroad after developing the facilities in the state is not desirable. The Finance Minister was inaugurating the Public Procurement Summit, the largest business-to-government summit organized by the Kerala Startup Mission.
The Public Procurement Summit was organized with the aim of making the best products and services of startups available to government departments. KR Jyotilal, Principal Secretary, Department of Public Administration and Transport, who presided over the summit, said that Kerala is developing as the startup capital of the country.
Under the leadership of KSUM, Startup Innovation Zones will be formed in government departments. More than 100 startups and various government departments participated in the summit.
Through direct communication and presentation with government and public sector entities, the opportunity was created for startups to understand the needs of the Government Department and present their products and services. KSEB was the first to set up an Innovation Zone.
Secretaries of various departments also spoke as part of the summit. An exhibition of startups from different regions and one-to-one interaction of startups with departments took place during the summit.
