IT sector hires about 3.60 lakh freshers in FY22

The IT sector has hired an estimated 350,000-360,000 freshers in FY22 across 30 plus firms. This accounts for around 14-18% of the total headcount of the top IT companies. TCS, Infosys and Cognizant added 77,000, 41,000-42,000, and 33,000 freshers respectively.

This data is given by UnearthInsight, a metrics benchmarking and market intelligence firm. All the top firms have also revised their fresher hiring target

This financial year, the industry may achieve the best revenue growth. Experts expect the situation to start improving in FY23 as it is estimated that attrition will come down to 16-18%.
