The question that changed life
Nidhi Yadav, 25, has a life-changing story. Nidhi, a computer science graduate, worked at Deloitte. During the year-end presentation, Nidhi was asked a question – When was the last time you wanted to go to the office? She honestly replied that it was never. She did an internship at the Italian fashion brand Emilio Pucci. Nidhi got a job with the famous fashion brand Gucci but returned to India to stay with her family.
AKS, a women’s initiative in Gurugram
In 2014, Nidhi launched the AKS, Ethnic Clothing brand for women in Gurugram. AKS means reflection and reflection. The clothing brand, which started at Rs 3.5 lakh, later achieved a turnover of Rs 137 crore. AKS targets women between the ages of 18 and 35. Kurta, anarkali, maxi dress, lehenga and traditional suits were the products. Every two weeks the brand would release 15-29 new clothing styles. At the time no other brand did that. Nidhi says the designs that are sold out once will not be made again. The fabrics are imported from Surat, Ahmedabad and Jodhpur. 50% of production is in Delhi and the remaining 50% is in Jaipur. Currently, the company has printing, dyeing, stitching and manufacturing units in Jaipur. The company is moving its warehouse to Delhi.
Available at online stores
Today the AKS brand is available in online stores such as Myntra, Jabong and Flipkart. AKS Clothing also has its own website. It also exports garments to Singapore and Malaysia.
According to Nidhi, success in business is not just about achieving goals or high growth. Nidhi considers mental happiness and contentment to be the greatest factors of success.
