AI technology to understand movements of child
AI Cradlewise is an innovative concept. The startup is building smart cradles with built-in baby monitors for babies. The startup is learning cradle baby sleeping patterns and understands changing needs using Artificial Intelligence. Radhika Patil says Cradlewise is the only baby product on the market that uses deep technology and AI to study baby’s sleep patterns and growth trends.
Cradlewise, designed by Radhika
Radhika designed the first cradle for her own use to work and take care of her baby together. They searched a lot for good cradles online and offline as the baby sleeps well inside it. But the cradle, which is usually four-legged, had a weak stand. The overall quality was poor and the beds were solid. Radhika finally decided to design own cradle. The new cradle, designed, was comfortable for the baby. The cradle underwent changes as the baby grew. The cradle was given the auto swinging feature. When the baby was four months old, there were concerns about the safety of the baby in the cradle. With this, the need for a monitor became clear when the baby was away.
Her husband, Bharat Patil, was working at Texas Instruments on state-of-the-art sensor technology. This sensor technology is perfectly suited for monitoring and alerting the baby’s sleep. Cradle also adopted the technology. Later the product was developed weekly to suit the needs of the growing baby. It was also the beginning of a startup called Cradlewise.
Offices in the US and India
The startup has offices in the San Francisco Bay Area, California and in Bangalore, India. The startup recently raised $ 7 million in a seed round led by venture capital firm Footwork, CRV, and existing investors SOSV and Better Capital. Radhika Patil said the team aims to expand in India and recruit in technology, engineering and design. The company holds two product technology patents in the US and India. The technology team in India consists of 25 members.
