Awareness about Angel investments
Investments to the tune of Rs 80 crore were announced at the 7th edition of the Seeding Kerala Summit organized by the Kerala Start-up Mission. The investment will be provided to the 15 startups shortlisted in the summit. The summit was organized to create awareness among the investors in Kerala about Angel Investments and thereby to attract investment to startup ventures.
The summit which was held in hybrid mode saw participation of 46 investors from within and outside the state. The event was also attended by corporate houses, startup founders and High Networth Individuals (HNI).
The Startup Mission has issued a letter of intent to invite applications for the new scheme in view of the success of the low risk, Fund of Fund Scheme. The various panels of Seeding Kerala discussed in detail the various aspects of investing in startup ventures in Kerala. The Kerala Startup Mission has stated that it will go ahead with the proposals put forward by the investors.
Expert discussions
The startups which picked up for investments are Bumberry, Cookd, Zappyhire, Shipnext, Shop Connect, Hyreo, TIEA, Astrek Innovations, Messengerify, Premagic, Finsall, Agnikul, Ubifly. Speciale Invest Fund, SEA Fund, Kerala Angel Network, Malabar Angel Network, Indian Angel Network and high networth individuals like V K Mathews, Raveendranath Kamath, Navas Meeran, and Rajesh Padinjaremadam made the investment pledges.
Expert discussions were held on space technology, the role of angel investors in sustainable investment, and HR TECH. About 30 experts from inside and outside Kerala participated in various panel discussions.
