ONGC has appointed Alka Mittal as interim chairman and managing director. She is the first woman to head the country’s largest oil and gas producer.
Mittal has replaced Subhash Kumar. Alka Mittal is a post-graduate and a doctorate in commerce. She became the first woman to join ONGC’s board on November 27, 2018. ONGC has two full-time female directors. Alka Mittal is the CMD and Pomila Jaspal is the Director of Finance.
