Intel is planning to set up its semiconductor manufacturing unit in India. The Minister for IT and Electronics, Ashwini Vaishnaw, welcomed Intel to India in his tweet.

Rs 76,000-crore has been approved by the cabinet as a policy boost for semiconductor production. This is to position India as a global hub for hi-tech production. Vaishnaw observed that electronics play an important role in everyday life. Semiconductor chips forms a crucial part of electronics.
