The incentive scheme is a part of the government’s bid to make the country a hub for electronics. India will set up more than 20 semiconductor design, components manufacturing and display fabrication units over the next six years.

The new semiconductor policy will help deepen India’s manufacturing base. Investments worth Rs 1.7 lakh crore are expected to materialize. It will generate 35,000 high-quality jobs and one lakh indirect employment. Recently, semiconductor supply has been severely disrupted causing a huge crisis.
