British digital bank Zopa has raised $300 million from investors, including Japan’s SoftBank Group.
Zopa looks to expand its business ahead of a possible listing next year.
The funding round values Zopa at around 750 million pounds ($1.03 billion).
Chief Executive Jainav Janardana said “SoftBank identified us as the clear leader of digital consumer lending in the UK”.
“They also believe in using AI and ML for lending and pricing, which we have been doing for years”.
SoftBank Group’s Vision Fund 2 has been investing in British financial technology firms.
The new valuation is a milestone in Zopa‘s journey.
