India’s exports of major 37 agriculture and processed products jumped 18% to $10 billion during the first half of the current fiscal.
There was an impressive growth in wheat, maize, meat, dairy and poultry products.
The overall export of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda products) was $8.51 billion in April-September 2020.
Experts said that it would be a challenge for APEDA to sustain the momentum in the second half.
If so, it would be difficult to achieve the targeted growth for this year, which is 10-15%
This is because September had witnessed only about a 4% increase in shipment
Meanwhile, exports of APEDA products basket had registered 23.8% growth at $19.97 billion during 2020-21
It is against the $16.13 billion in FY20
